Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (about 15 oz) of white cake mix
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups of fresh strawberries, sliced
- 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- Optional: fresh mint leaves or additional strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking and set aside.
- Spread the sliced strawberries evenly at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Optionally, sprinkle a bit of sugar over the strawberries.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, ensuring even coverage for a crisp topping.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
- While baking, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar for sweetness if desired. Chill until ready to serve.
Notes
- Use ripe, fresh strawberries for peak flavor. Frozen strawberries can be used as a substitute.
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened properly to avoid lumps.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts or graham cracker crumbs over the top before baking for added texture.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature, based on preference.
