- 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 package (32 oz) frozen Tater Tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions or sliced olives for garnish
Instructions
- Cook ground beef or turkey in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, then add chopped onions, salt, and pepper. Cook until onions are translucent.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined. Let simmer briefly to blend flavors.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread the cooked meat mixture evenly.
- Top with 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, then spread the frozen Tater Tots in a single layer over the cheese layer.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until Tater Tots are golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle remaining cheese during the last 5 minutes for extra cheesiness.
