Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs (900g) beef sirloin or stewing beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari for a gluten-free option
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the beef and cut into even bite-sized pieces. Use a veggie prep tool for efficiency if desired.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, black pepper, thyme, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the mixture over the beef pieces and toss to coat thoroughly.
- Transfer the coated beef into the slow cooker, spreading evenly. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until tender.
- Once cooked, set the slow cooker to warm or high for a few minutes to thicken the sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Optional add-ins include sliced onions or bell peppers during the last hour of cooking for extra flavor.
- Use a nonstick cookware set for easy serving and cleanup.
- For a crispy finish, broil the beef bites on a baking sheet for 2-3 minutes after slow cooking.
