Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced pickles (optional, for extra burger flavor)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned. Once cooked, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until translucent—about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the orzo pasta, coating it with the beef drippings. Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Add diced pickles if desired, and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
- Reheat in microwave or skillet, adding a splash of broth or milk to restore creaminess.
- Can be customized with additional toppings like crispy bacon or chopped green onions.
