- 1 lb (450g) chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in spices: garam masala, turmeric, chili powder, cumin. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Add crushed tomatoes, cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add chicken pieces, cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, simmer for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken with paneer or tofu for a vegetarian version.
- Adjust spice levels according to your taste.
