- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced thinly
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining oil, sliced onions, and peppers. Cook until vegetables are tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return beef to the skillet, add soy sauce, oyster sauce if using, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until glossy and heated through.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning according to taste.
- You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variation.
- For a spicy kick, add chili flakes or hot sauce.
