- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned and cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, simmer for 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Meanwhile, cook orzo pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream to the beef and tomato mixture. Add cooked orzo and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- For added flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
