Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream or milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook until golden brown on both sides, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion and garlic until fragrant and soft.
- Whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add chicken broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream or milk. Return chicken to the skillet and simmer until cooked through and gravy has thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the thickness of gravy by adding more or less chicken broth or cream.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread for a complete meal.
