Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Core the cabbage and carefully peel off large leaves, blanch in boiling water until flexible, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. Mix cooked rice, ground meat, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl.
  5. Place a spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in sides.
  6. Arrange rolls in a baking dish, pour tomato sauce over the top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, until cooked through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
