- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a shallow bowl, mix bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- In another bowl, beat eggs. Dip each chicken breast in eggs, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer chicken to the baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot with pasta or vegetables.

- For extra flavor, add chopped garlic to marinara sauce.
- Ensure chicken is pounded to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
