- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita bread or flatbreads
- Fresh cucumber, sliced
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Red onions, thinly sliced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
For the Feta Tzatziki
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 cucumber, grated and drained
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Coat the chicken breasts thoroughly with the marinade. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked and golden brown. Rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Combine Greek yogurt, feta, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until serving.
- Warm the pita bread slightly. Spread feta tzatziki on each, then add sliced chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, and parsley. Fold and serve immediately.
Notes
- Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes for optimal flavor.
- Reheat cooked chicken before assembling for juiciness.
- For added flavor, add shredded lettuce or pickled red onions.
