Discover how to make a delicious Honey Garlic Sausage and Sweet Potato Skillet that’s perfect for busy weeknights. This easy sausage sweet potato recipe combines savory flavors with wholesome ingredients for a satisfying and flavorful meal.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large Honey Garlic Sausage links or sliced sausage links
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Begin by peeling and dicing the sweet potatoes into bite-sized cubes. Mince the garlic cloves and set aside. If you prefer, slice the sausage links into rounds for even cooking.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage links and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Toss in the diced sweet potatoes, season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sweet potatoes are tender and slightly caramelized.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Drizzle the honey over the sweet potatoes and stir well to coat everything evenly. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Slice the cooked sausage into rounds and add back into the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve immediately. Pair with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.

Notes

  • You can substitute frozen sweet potatoes—thaw and drain excess water before cooking.
  • Use your preferred type of sausage like turkey, chicken, or pork for variety.
  • Vegetarian option: replace sausage with plant-based options like tofu or veggie sausages.
  • This dish takes approximately 30 minutes to prepare, making it perfect for weeknights.
  • Ensure sausages are gluten-free if needed for dietary restrictions.
