Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: melted chocolate, caramel sauce, powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, and a pinch of salt; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the flour until a smooth dough forms. Let cool slightly.
- Add eggs one at a time to the dough, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small, evenly sized bites onto the baking sheet.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush baked churro bites with melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Optional: dip in melted chocolate or drizzle with caramel sauce. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- Wrap leftover baked churro bites in an airtight container. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
- You can customize toppings with chocolate ganache, additional cinnamon sugar, or caramel sauce.
- For gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
