Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix until combined and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just incorporated. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and evenly spread it out.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients.
- Use overripe bananas for the best sweetness and moisture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- To freeze, wrap slices tightly in plastic wrap and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
