- 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in spices: garam masala, turmeric, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Add remaining butter and the chicken pieces. Cook until chicken is golden and cooked through.
- Pour in tomato sauce, stir well, and simmer for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream. Cook for another 5 minutes until sauce is creamy and thickened.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
