Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts or thighs generously with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and cook the chicken until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Reduce heat to low and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, slowly whisk in heavy cream, season with thyme or Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer gently until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over each piece. Simmer for another 5 minutes to meld flavors and reheat the chicken thoroughly.
Notes
- Use skinless, boneless chicken for quick cooking and easier sauce absorption.
- Adjust the cream and butter ratios for a richer or lighter sauce as desired.
- Adding fresh herbs like thyme or parsley enhances the dish’s aroma and flavor.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread for a complete meal.
