Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 ½ tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cinnamon sugar mixture (½ cup sugar + 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- Cooking spray or parchment paper for baking
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in the flour until the dough forms a smooth ball. Let cool slightly.
- Add eggs and vanilla to the dough, mixing well until fully incorporated.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe small strips or bite-sized shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray or brush the churro bites with oil or cooking spray.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- While still warm, toss the baked churro bites in cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
Notes
- For a healthier twist, try baking with an air fryer instead of the oven.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven or air fryer for a fresh, crispy experience.
