Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
- Optional: chopped herbs like parsley or thyme for added flavor
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked mashed potatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly until ingredients are well incorporated. Gradually add the beaten eggs, mixing to form a cohesive dough.
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll into balls or ovals. Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes if the mixture feels soft.
- Set up three bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. Dip each potato portion into the flour, then eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly for adhesion.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the puffs with cooking spray or olive oil.
- Arrange the puffs in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
Notes
- Chill the shaped puffs before cooking to maintain shape.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for maximum crunch.
- Spray lightly before air frying for a crispy crust.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even cooking.
