Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (preferably Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs
- Optional: caramel sauce or yogurt for dipping
Instructions
- Wash and peel the apples. Slice into fry-shaped pieces about 1/4 inch thick, removing the core and seeds.
- In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar. Prepare three dishes: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with cinnamon-sugar.
- Dip each apple slice into flour, then egg, and finally coat with cinnamon-sugar breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place coated apple fries in a single layer in the basket.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best results.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model for perfect crunchiness.
- Serve right away for optimal texture, or store leftovers in an airtight container.
