Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks or canned pineapple in juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Optional: chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Start by selecting fresh boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cut them into strips for even cooking.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, and honey. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to enhance the flavor.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in pineapple chunks and pour the sauce over the chicken. Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and flavors meld.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for a fresh finishing touch. Serve hot over rice or your favorite side.
Notes
- Use fresh pineapple for a brighter flavor or canned pineapple in juice for convenience.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar as per taste.
- For a spicy twist, sprinkle red pepper flakes or add hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
