  • 12 store-bought wonton wrappers
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup cooked shredded chicken (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the wontons by placing a small spoonful of chicken (if using) in the center of each wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold into a sealed triangle or desired shape.
  2. Bring chicken broth to a boil in a large pot. Add soy sauce and sesame oil.
  3. Gently drop wontons into boiling broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until wontons float and are cooked through.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro before serving.
