Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecan halves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add flour and salt, mixing until crumbly. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla. Stir in pecans.
- Pour the filling over the baked crust. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until the filling is set and bubbly.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars. Optionally, drizzle with caramel sauce or sprinkle powdered sugar.
Notes
- Ensure the crust is evenly pressed to prevent cracking.
- For a richer flavor, toast the pecans before adding.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature for best texture.
