  • Total Time: 2 hours
  • Yield: 12 cinnamon rolls

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 slices bacon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon until crispy by frying or baking, then chop into small pieces.
  2. Activate yeast by combining warm milk, a teaspoon of sugar, and yeast; let sit until foamy.
  3. Mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt; add softened butter, eggs, and activated yeast. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered, until doubled in size (1 to 1.5 hours).
  5. Roll out the dough into a 16×12 inch rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture, and evenly distribute chopped bacon.
  7. Roll up tightly starting from the long edge, then cut into 12 slices.
  8. Arrange slices in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix maple syrup, powdered sugar, and vanilla for the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with crushed nuts or drizzle additional maple syrup.
  • Ensure bacon is fully cooled before chopping to prevent melting into the dough.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 24 hours at room temperature or refrigerated for up to 3 days.
