- 8 oz spaghetti or your preferred pasta
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of half a lemon
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Steam or blanch the broccoli florets until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add cooked broccoli to the skillet, toss with garlic oil for 2 minutes.
- Mix in cooked pasta, lemon juice, and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra cheese and herbs if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for a different dietary preference.
- Add red chili flakes for extra spice.
- For a vegan version, omit Parmesan or use a dairy-free cheese alternative.
