A rich and crunchy Christmas toffee that’s easy to make at home, topped with nuts and festive sprinkles for the perfect holiday snack or gift.

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds or pecans)
  • Holiday sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and salt, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Boil for 5-7 minutes without stirring, until the toffee reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading evenly.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts and holiday sprinkles on top while still warm.
  7. Allow toffee to cool completely and then break into pieces.
