  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3 large apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix flour, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into a greased baking pan to form the crust.
  2. Bake crust for 15 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, toss apple slices with cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread over the cooled crust.
  4. Warm caramel sauce slightly and drizzle over apple layer. Carefully spread to cover evenly.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set before slicing and serving.
