Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and roll into a circle about 12 inches in diameter.
- Mix chopped pecans, brown sugar, and softened butter to make the filling.
- Cut the dough into 8 wedges. Place a spoonful of pecan filling on each wedge and roll up tightly from the wide end to the point.
- Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and serve warm, optionally drizzled with caramel or honey.
Notes
- Ensure yeast is activated properly for soft, fluffy rolls.
- Chop pecans finely for an even filling distribution.
- Best enjoyed warm with a spread of butter or honey.
