- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups kale or spinach, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, add diced onion and cook until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Return sausage to the pot and cook for 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
- Add chopped kale or spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and extra parmesan if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute kale with spinach for a softer texture.
- Use low-sodium chicken broth to control salt intake.
